Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Job Location: Wellington
Contract: Full-Time
Salary: £90 - £95 per day
We are a dynamic educational recruitment agency seeking a dedicated and empathetic Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Wellington, Somerset. The successful candidate will play an integral role in providing outstanding support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the delivery of tailored educational activities for individual pupils or small groups.
- Support the teacher in creating a stimulating learning environment that accommodates all pupils' needs.
- Use a variety of techniques and resources to promote engagement and learning.
- Work closely with the class teacher to monitor students' progress and provide feedback.
- Help to prepare materials and resources for lessons and activities.
- Act as a supportive mentor and guide for pupils, nurturing their academic and social development.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as SENCOs, therapists, and parents, to implement individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Facilitate the independence of pupils, while providing the necessary support.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within a primary setting.
- Good understanding of the needs of pupils with SEND.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate and patient approach to supporting children's learning.
- The ability to work as part of a team and take the initiative when necessary.
- Enhanced DBS check.
