Description
Learning Support Worker
Caerphilly
Are you someone who genuinely wants to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people? Are you resilient, empathetic, and ready to work in a dynamic setting where every day brings something new?
We are currently recruiting Learning Support Workers for a specialist provision in the Caerphilly area. This unique setting caters to pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD), ranging across various age groups. The school provides a nurturing environment where students who have struggled in mainstream settings can re-engage with learning and build confidence, relationships, and trust.
About the Role:
As a Learning Support Worker, you will play a vital part in supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. The role involves helping them access the curriculum, manage their emotions and behaviours, and develop social and life skills.
You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to provide consistency and structure, helping students thrive both academically and personally. No two days are the same – flexibility, creativity, and a calm, consistent approach are key.
We are looking for individuals who:
• Are available for either part-time or full-time work
• Have a caring and patient nature with a genuine passion for helping young people
• Are not phased by challenging behaviour and understand the importance of trauma-informed approaches
• Are dependable, committed, and eager to make a positive impact
• Have previous experience in education, care, youth work, or a similar setting (desirable but not essential)
• Are open to learning, growing, and contributing to a positive team culture
In return, you will receive:
• A highly rewarding role where you can see real progress and change
• Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
• Supportive leadership and colleagues who truly care about staff wellbeing
• The opportunity to be part of a meaningful and transformative educational journey for young people
If you're someone who shows up with compassion, patience, and a desire to make a real difference, we want to hear from you.
