Teaching Assistant – Primary School
Location: PR6
Salary: £93- £96 per day, depending on experience.
Start Date: September
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm, term time only.
Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a , dedicated and enthusiastic teaching assistant to join a welcoming primary school. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and helping them achieve their full potential.
The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to provide high-quality support to pupils across the primary age range. You may work with individuals, small groups or the whole class, helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting pupils with their learning and development across the primary curriculum
• Working with individuals and small groups to provide targeted support
• Assisting the class teacher with classroom activities and preparation
• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required
• Encouraging positive behaviour and maintaining a calm, supportive classroom environment
• Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills
• Supporting children during lessons, break times and other school activities
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers
• Following school policies and safeguarding procedures
The successful candidate will ideally have:
• Experience working with children in a school, nursery or educational setting
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A patient, caring and positive approach
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Good classroom management and behaviour-support skills
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or previous experience is desirable, but not essential
