Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking compassionate, resilient and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to join an independent special school in Crosby this January.
This school supports pupils aged 8–16, offering a calm, nurturing setting where young people can rebuild their confidence, develop emotional resilience, and re-engage with learning that is meaningful and personalised.
About the Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support based on each pupil’s learning and emotional needs
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and pastoral teams to deliver inclusive, therapeutic learning experiences
• Build strong, trusting relationships that help pupils feel safe, valued and understood
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour using trauma-informed, relationship-based approaches
• Encourage independence, engagement and personal growth through consistent, empowering support
