Teaching Assistant Job in Minehead – Primary School – SEMH, Behaviour and Academic Support

Axcis Education are recruiting a full-time Teaching Assistant in Minehead. This rewarding Teaching Assistant Minehead primary school role involves supporting pupils with academic progress, behaviour management and social and emotional development throughout the school day.

As a Teaching Assistant you will work closely with class teachers and the school team to help pupils access learning, build confidence and develop emotional resilience. You will support students in lessons and across the school, assisting with academic tasks, behaviour management and social and emotional development. This Minehead Teaching Assistant role is ideal for those passionate about making a positive impact in primary education.

Role Responsibilities
- Supporting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom resources
- Assisting pupils with academic understanding across subjects
- Supporting social and emotional development in class and small groups
- Managing behaviour and de-escalating challenging situations
- Safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
- Assisting during break and lunch duties
- Covering other Teaching Assistant staff when required

Ideal Candidate
- Able to build positive relationships with pupils
- Resilient with clear boundaries
- Proactive, positive and solution-focused
- Willing to support the wider school team
- Experience in behaviour support or SEND is beneficial but not essential
