Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Frome, Somerset
Pay Rate: £90 - £95 per day
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
About the Role:
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our outstanding Ofsted-rated all-through SEND school located in Frome, Somerset. The ideal candidate will be tasked with providing support to students with a range of special educational needs, under the direction of the class teacher and SEND Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist and support the class teacher in the preparation and delivery of learning activities
- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning material and skills introduced by the teacher
- Adapt communication style to meet the needs of students with a variety of learning and communication difficulties
- Monitor and support pupil progress, reporting any concerns to the class teacher
- Help maintain a safe, orderly, and supportive learning environment
- Implement behaviour management strategies, as directed by the teacher, to ensure a constructive learning atmosphere
- Support pupils in developing their social skills and encouraging their engagement in school activities
- Assist in the development of resources and materials for lessons
- Participate in school meetings and training sessions as required
- Maintain strict confidentiality at all times concerning pupil information
Requirements:
- Past experience working in a SEND setting or a strong desire to work with children with special educational needs (personal or professional experience)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Patience, flexibility, and a caring disposition
- Ability to work as part of a team and under the direction of the class teacher
- Committed to ongoing professional development and learning
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
