A well-established, family-owned organisation in Guernsey is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Fund Accountant to join their specialist Fund Accounting team. About the Role
The Trainee Fund Accountant will assist with bookkeeping, accounting, and reporting for a portfolio of active venture capital funds. Working closely with colleagues, you will help deliver accurate and well-presented financial information within agreed deadlines, in line with company policies and regulatory standards. The position offers exposure to a variety of unique and exciting transactions, ensuring no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities
• Undertake training to gain a thorough understanding of clients and fund structures
• Maintain bookkeeping, accounting, and reporting for a tailored portfolio of venture capital funds
• Support Fund Accountants and Senior Fund Accountants with more complex client work
• Assist in producing quarterly management accounts and annual audited accounts under IFRS and FRS102
• Provide timely responses to audit requests and liaise with tax advisors for relevant reporting
• Respond to client queries promptly and manage client mailbox correspondence
• Collaborate with the Fund Administration team to ensure accurate and timely record-keeping
• Attend professional qualification courses and work towards relevant exams
