What the Role Involves:
As a Youth Support Worker, you’ll provide vital encouragement and practical support to young people facing a range of challenges. Your role will include:
• Offering day-to-day emotional and practical guidance
• Building strong, positive relationships that nurture self-belief and resilience
• Supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
• Encouraging engagement in both learning and extra-curricular activities
• Assisting with conflict resolution and crisis support where required
• Working closely with teachers, carers, and professionals to ensure consistent, joined-up support
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment
What We’re Looking For:
• A patient, caring, and motivated individual who enjoys working with young people
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust
• Calm under pressure, with the resilience to manage challenging behaviour
• Experience in youth work, social care, education, or mentoring (advantageous but not essential)
• Adaptability and a proactive approach when supporting students from varied backgrounds
• Willingness to complete relevant training (e.g., safeguarding, behaviour management)
