Job Role: ADHD Teaching Assistant
Location: Wandsworth, London
Pay: Paid to scale
Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm
Start Date: Monday 1st September
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate ADHD Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team, working within a vibrant educational establishment in Wandsworth, London. The ideal candidate will have experience in supporting children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and be committed to enhancing educational outcomes and supporting inclusive practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with lead teachers to develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) for students with ADHD.
• Utilize effective behavioural management techniques tailored to individual student needs to encourage a positive and structured learning environment.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to children, focusing on engagement in curricular activities and promoting independent learning skills.
• Assist with the preparation of differentiated materials and inclusive activities that meet the diverse needs of students with ADHD.
• Monitor student progress, keeping detailed records and communicating effectively with teachers, parents, and relevant professionals.
• Attend and contribute to meetings and professional development sessions related to ADHD and inclusive education.
• Encourage self-esteem and resilience in students by recognizing their strengths and supporting their academic and social-emotional development.
Requirements:
• Professional qualification or experience in Special Education Needs (SEN) support, specifically with children diagnosed with ADHD.
• Strong understanding of ADHD and its impact on learning and behaviour.
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, creativity, and a positive approach to problem-solving.
• Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding children.
