Axcis Education are supporting a mainstream primary school in Winson Green who are looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to be appointed as soon as possible. The role will be to work with a pupil with Special Needs who is currently in Reception. For the right candidate, there is the potential of this role continuing until the Pupil leaves school at the end of Year 6.
The school is a friendly and welcoming setting and caters for a range of Special Needs, including ASD and SEMH. The school promotes learning through a range of methods and activities are planned according to the level the child is working at.
The successful candidate will be working on a 1:1 basis with a pupil in Reception. The pupil has ASD and ADHD and struggles to self-regulate and is non-verbal. You will be supporting the child with day to day activities in and around their main classroom and within the resource hub and ensuring the safety of the child at all times.
To be successful for this role you will
• Previous experience supporting young children with profound developmental delays
• Have knowledge or previous experience of using basic Makaton (qualification not required)
• Be able to always remain calm
• Be able to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment
This role pays a week in arrears (every Friday) and you will be paid via PAYE on a daily rate starting from £89.00 per day based on suitable experience.
