Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (Challenging Behaviours)
Location: Lambeth, London
Contract: Full-Time, Monday to Friday
Working Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Start Date: September 2025
Are you a resilient, empathetic professional with experience supporting students with social, emotional and mental health needs? A college in Lambeth is seeking a confident and committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to work with young people who present with challenging behaviours.
About the Role:
This is a full-time, classroom-based role supporting students aged 16+ who require emotional regulation, structure, and consistent boundaries. You’ll play a key role in building trust, promoting engagement, and helping learners manage behaviour positively.
Key Requirements:
• Proven experience in a classroom setting, working with SEMH or behaviourally complex students
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• A valid Enhanced Child & Adult DBS (or willingness to apply)
• Patient, consistent, and confident in high-pressure situations
• Understanding of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding
