Hours: 8.30 am -16.00pm

Axcis is working to recruit a teaching assistant to join a Primary School in Dagenham. This role will be working with the early years classes, so experience of this is needed.

They are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled teaching assistant to support students with autism. In this role, you will assist the classroom teacher in delivering tailored educational programs that focus on both academic and social development. Your support will be essential in helping the student develop communication skills and navigate social interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the classroom teacher in delivering personalised educational programs.
• Working 1:1 with students
• Support the student in developing communication and social skills, using appropriate strategies and tools.
• Create a safe and positive learning environment that encourages participation and engagement.
• Develop and use visual aids, social stories, sensory resources, and other tools tailored to support students with ASD.
Qualifications:
• Experience working with students on the autism spectrum
• Working in a primary school or early years setting
• Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and associated learning needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and adaptability in diverse situations.
