We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated 1 to 1 SEND Learning Mentor to join our Specialised SEND School department in St. Helens. In this role, you will have the rewarding opportunity to work closely with learners aged 5 - 16 who have Autism and other learning difficulties. Your primary responsibility will be to provide personalised support and guidance to these students, assisting them in their educational journey and helping them develop essential life skills.

Responsibilities:

-Work closely with individual learners to provide one-on-one support tailored to their specific needs and abilities.
-Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting personal growth and independence.
-Assist students in acquiring and developing essential life skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and self-care.
-Collaborate with the school staff to create individualised learning plans and monitor student progress.
-Uphold a safe and secure environment, ensuring the welfare and well-being of the students at all times.


Requirements:

-Experience in school, youth work or care settings is highly desirable.
-An understanding of Autism and other learning difficulties is beneficial.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and create a supportive learning atmosphere.
-Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young individuals.
-Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs and challenges of the students.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable individuals.


Contract Details:

Full-time position, Monday to Friday.
8.30 - 4pm working day
Temporary to permanent contract for the right candidate.
Hourly rates from £13.50
