Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ASD Teaching Assistant to work with an amazing primary school in Cannock, Staffordshire. The successful candidate will work 1:1 with a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), providing tailored support to help them achieve their full potential in a nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one and small group support for a student with ASD.
• Assist in the development and implementation of the students EHCP
• Support with communication, social interaction, and sensory processing needs.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to create an inclusive classroom environment.
• Adapt learning materials to meet the needs of the student
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
• Promote independence, confidence, and positive behavior among students.
Essential Requirements:
• Experience working with children with ASD or other Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt to different learning needs and behaviors.
• Understanding of autism strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or sensory integration techniques (desirable not essential).
The opportunity:

• £90 - £105 per day, please be aware that pay rates will depend on skills and experience
• Term Time Only
• Based in Cannock, Staffordshire
• Starting ASAP until the end of the academic year with the view to continue in the new academic year 2025/2026 - Monday-Friday 08:30pm - 3:30pm
• Fulltime and Part time available
