This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading independent provider of private wealth, corporate administration and yacht services. This role is open for candidates who are either based in Guernsey or London.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the output of the Group’s tax function, ensuring compliance with international tax laws and regulatory requirements. Working closely with senior stakeholders across jurisdictions, the role will provide strategic leadership, ensure robust policy frameworks, and deliver high-quality tax advice and compliance oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
• Leading the tax function, aligning goals with the Group’s broader strategy.
• Overseeing the preparation and filing of tax returns for corporate and trust entities across Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Man, BVI, and the UK.
• Managing VAT, ATED, IHT and other tax reporting across jurisdictions.
• Handling tax audits and enquiries to minimise financial and reputational risk.
• Developing and implementing internal tax policies and frameworks.
• Leading and mentoring the tax team, ensuring development and high performance.
• Supporting business functions with tax-related guidance and training.
• Monitoring tax legislation changes and driving process improvements.
• Collaborating with senior leadership on tax-related strategic initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate:
This role requires a seasoned tax professional with at least 8–10 years’ experience in tax compliance, including in a leadership capacity. A CTA or equivalent professional qualification is essential. Experience in UK company and trust tax is required, alongside strong knowledge of tax legislation in relevant jurisdictions. Candidates must possess exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to non-technical audiences. The ability to influence across jurisdictions, manage multiple stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement is key.
