Description

We are looking for an experienced AV Project Engineer to join a growing technical team delivering high-quality integrated technology projects.
This is a hands-on installation role where you will work alongside Lead Engineers, Project Managers and other technical specialists to deliver projects from installation through to completion. You will be expected to work confidently from technical drawings, maintain high installation standards and provide updates on site progress.
Projects will involve a broad mix of audio-visual, home automation, lighting control, networking, security and entertainment technologies, often within premium environments where attention to detail is essential.

Key Responsibilities
• Carry out professional installation and second-fix works across AV and integrated technology projects.
• Install and terminate AV, data and control cabling.
• Install displays, speakers, AV outlets and associated equipment.
• Build and wire equipment racks, including patch panels, power, data and AV connectivity.
• Install and connect lighting and automated blind control systems.
• Support the installation of platforms such as Lutron and Crestron.
• Install TV and satellite distribution systems.
• Work with video entry, access control and electronic locking solutions.
• Install and connect CCTV systems.
• Install cinema and surround sound systems, including projectors and projection screens.
• Assist with basic network configuration and fault diagnosis using a laptop and relevant tools.
• Read and work accurately from technical drawings, schematics and system documentation.
• Support and provide guidance to less experienced engineers when required.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Lead Engineers and third-party contractors to keep projects progressing.
• Identify site issues or dependencies that could affect installation and communicate these to the relevant project team.
• Provide regular progress updates when acting independently on site.
• Protect completed areas, fixtures and high-end finishes while installation work is taking place.
• Maintain appropriate records of completed work and site conditions.
• Follow company and site health & safety requirements at all times.

Experience & Skills
The successful candidate should have:
• Strong hands-on experience within AV installation or integrated technology systems.
• A good understanding of how AV systems are installed, connected and commissioned.
• Experience with AV, data and control cable termination.
• Rack building and equipment installation experience.
• Knowledge of cinema and surround sound systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Good electrical awareness.
• Basic understanding of IP networking.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working independently on active project sites.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineers, contractors and project teams.

Experience with Lutron, Crestron, lighting control, home automation, CCTV or access control systems would be particularly beneficial.
Training opportunities may also be available for engineers looking to develop their programming and control-system knowledge.

Out-of-Hours Support
The position will form part of an occasional out-of-hours support rota. This may involve providing remote assistance or attending site when necessary.

The Opportunity
This would suit a technically strong AV Engineer who enjoys hands-on project delivery and wants to broaden their experience across AV, automation, networking and integrated technology systems.
You’ll join an experienced technical team with the opportunity to take on greater responsibility and continue developing your technical skill set as the business grows.
