Behaviour Teaching Assistant

SEND Teaching Assistant | Yate | Full Time | September Start | £14.25 per hour
Are you looking for a rewarding Teaching Assistant role where you can make a lasting difference to vulnerable young people?
Axcis Education is recruiting a Behaviour Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 5 to 16 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs at a specialist school in Yate.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, starting in September. Following a successful 16-week settling-in period, the role will become permanent.
This is not a typical classroom role. Many pupils have experienced trauma, disrupted education or significant barriers to learning and may display behaviours that challenge. Your role will be to build trusted relationships, provide consistency and help pupils regulate their emotions so they can engage with education and achieve their potential.
You'll be joining a specialist school recognised by Ofsted for its Good quality of education, strong pastoral support and positive relationships between staff and pupils. Inspectors highlighted the school's nurturing environment, ambitious curriculum and the way staff help pupils develop confidence, resilience and the skills they need for life beyond school.
We're looking for people with patience, resilience and a genuine passion for supporting young people. Previous school experience isn't essential. Whether you've worked as a Youth Worker, Sports Coach, Support Worker, Care Worker or in another role supporting children or young people, your attitude and values are what matter most.
