Description

Job Title: Child Support Worker
Hours: 8.30 - 3.30pm OR 9.30 - 3pm
Start Date: September, or ASAP for the right candidate

Axcis Education are thrilled to be recruiting Child Support Workers for one of our long-standing partner schools in the BS35 area, and we think you'll love it as much as we do. Whether you're a career changer, a graduate, a parent returning to work, or someone looking for a purposeful job with great hours - this could be a great option for you.

This is a role that works with you, not against you. Choose from school-friendly hours of 8.45–3.45 or 9.30–3.00, meaning you miss the worst of the traffic, and keep your evenings and weekends free.

What will your days look like?

You'll be supporting students on a 1:1 basis with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism and other complex needs. But don’t worry – you won’t be doing it alone. This school is all about teamwork.

Every classroom is a collaborative space, with school carers, learning support assistants, teachers, and HLTAs all working together. The curriculum is creative, hands-on, and highly individualised – so every day feels different, and every little breakthrough feels like a big win.

No experience? No problem.

There are roles to suit all skill levels:

School Carer

Child Support Worker

Learning Support Assistant

HLTA

What we really care about is your attitude. The ideal person:

Connects easily with students, families and colleagues

Can work well as part of a team, and take initiative when needed

Reflects on their practice and always puts the child first

Brings warmth, patience and a good sense of humour to their work

Why We'd Recommend This School:

This is a school with a real soul and community feel. From the minute you walk through the doors, you feel it. The facilities are purpose-build and thoughtfully designed to meet the diverse needs of students with complex learning profiles. The staff are warm, welcoming and clearly care deeply about waht tehy do. It's a truly child-centred environment - the curriculum is build around each learner, not the other way around. There's a big emphasis on fostering independence, building confidence, and supporting each child to thrive socially and emotionally. They're part of a highly regarded trust, which means great support, excellent training opportunities, and plenty of potential for progression.

Also, major location perks:

- Quick access from the M5
- Large, free car park for staff
