This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to influence commercial and strategic legal and regulatory matters across company’s operations in the Channel Islands, Isle of Man, South Atlantic, and Diego Garcia.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advise business stakeholders on legal and commercial risks, offering pragmatic, commercially-focused solutions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including hardware, software licensing, IT services, consultancy, and customer/supplier agreements.
• Manage legal aspects of reseller arrangements, data centre contracts, cloud services, and telecom-specific agreements (interconnect, wholesale, roaming).
• Provide expert counsel on data protection compliance (GDPR and local laws), supporting the Data Protection Officer.
• Assist in regulatory matters, including legislative reviews, licence negotiations, security obligations, and complaint resolutions.
• Oversee dispute resolution and litigation processes when necessary.
What You Need:
• Qualified lawyer in the UK, Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Man, Ireland, or equivalent jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 6 years' PQE, with strong commercial contract drafting experience.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively manage diverse and competing demands.
• Commercially-minded and capable of working independently to progress key projects.
Highly Desirable:
• In-house legal experience in telecoms/technology sectors.
• Expertise in data protection and regulated environments.
• Background in dispute resolution/litigation.
