Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Complex Needs Teaching Assistant for a rewarding role in a vibrant and supportive educational environment located in London, SW18. The ideal candidate will possess a compassionate approach and a commitment to supporting students with a range of needs including behavioural difficulties, complex needs, speech and language challenges, ADHD, and autism.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work closely with classroom teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and meet the specific needs of each student.
• Assist in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
• Use specialist skills to support learners, including those with communication and interaction challenges.
• Manage challenging behaviour effectively and constructively, using approved strategies.
• Adapt classroom activities, materials, and resources to enable students' academic and social development.
• Facilitate and promote positive interactions between students to foster peer relationships.
• Assist with evaluating student progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents.
• Uphold confidentiality and work within the school's policies and procedures.
Requirements:
• Experience working with children with behavioural issues and complex needs.
• Understanding of safeguarding practices and commitment to the safety and well-being of children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, resilience, and a positive, problem-solving attitude.
• Relevant qualifications, such as a teaching assistant certification or special needs education training.
