Job Title: Primary Teacher (KS2) - Maternity Cover

Location: Oldham, Lancashire

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Temporary Maternity Cover

Pay: £160 - £200 Per day (PAYE) depending on experience


Are you an enthusiastic Primary Teacher with a passion for nurturing young minds? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our welcoming team at [School Name], a two-form entry school in Oldham, Lancashire, that has been rated 'Good' by Ofsted. We invite applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs), who are looking for an opportunity to make a significant impact in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and innovative lessons to KS2 students, ensuring the curriculum is accessible and enjoyable for all learners.
- Be responsible for planning, marking, and assessing pupils’ work, providing constructive feedback to support their progress and attainment.
- Employ strong behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
- Monitor and report on the progress of pupils, maintaining accurate records and identifying any additional needs.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the wider school community, participating in school events and activities.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with parents and guardians, keeping them informed of their child’s development and fostering their involvement in the school community.
- Facilitate a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that recognizes and celebrates each child’s unique abilities.
- Support and mentor ECTs throughout their induction year, providing guidance and encouragement.

The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Holds a current DBS on the update service.
- Demonstrates strong behaviour management skills.
- Has a proven track record of raising attainment and accelerating progress.
- Is adaptable and resourceful, with the ability to engage students of varying abilities.
- Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills, necessary for building relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
- Is committed to ongoing professional development and is receptive to feedback.
