Description

Our client is a prestigious international life insurance provider and a prominent figure in the Guernsey financial services sector. They are recognized for their sophisticated approach to unit-linked operations and are currently enhancing their second line of defense to ensure a robust and independent AML/CFT/PF control environment. The organization is defined by a culture that is technical, aspiring, and trustworthy, prioritizing a human-centric approach to global compliance.

The Compliance Quality Assurance Reviewer is responsible for conducting second-line quality assurance reviews of AML file reviews and customer risk assessments across corporate, trust, and individual clients. Working closely with compliance and operational teams, the Reviewer provides feedback to strengthen first-line processes, supports MI reporting, and escalates material findings where necessary.

Key responsibilities will include;
• Independent Oversight: Conduct 2nd line quality assurance reviews of AML file reviews and customer risk assessments completed by the first line.
• Technical Validation: Ensure appropriate application of AML/CFT/PF due diligence in line with customer risk (Standard or Enhanced).
• Remediation Management: Maintain and oversee remediation tracking through to resolution and identify recurring compliance issues.
• Trend Analysis: Identify and escalate material findings to strengthen internal controls and mitigate regulatory risk.
• Operational Feedback: Provide technical guidance and feedback to the first line to drive continuous improvement and strengthen internal policies.
• Governance Support: Support MI reporting and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the compliance framework.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a sophisticated blend of regulatory fluency and analytical rigor, including:
• Sector Expertise: Solid experience in the financial services sector with a strong understanding of AML regulations and best practices.
• Regulatory Fluency: Thorough knowledge of AML/CFT/PF due diligence requirements, specifically regarding GFSC standards.
• Analytical Precision: Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail to identify deficiencies and document findings accurately.
• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with both compliance and operational teams to communicate feedback and drive resolutions.
• Technical Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft 365, including the ability to support reporting and remediation tracking.
