Description

A highly regarded offshore legal and fiduciary services firm is seeking an experienced finance professional to join their busy Jersey-based team on a fixed-term contract. This full-time, on-site role offers a six-month opportunity within a collaborative and high-performing Finance department, reporting to the Head of Finance and working alongside a team of four administrators.

This is an ideal opportunity for an organised and motivated individual with at least three years’ experience in a similar role, ideally gained within a professional services environment. Immediate or short-notice availability is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
• Reconcile bank statements to the practice management system (Aderant)
• Process supplier invoices, staff expenses, and BACS payments
• Prepare and distribute cheques; enter payments for online banking authorisation
• Support billing activities, including invoice preparation and query resolution
• Maintain accurate financial records in the practice management system
• Assist with billing runs, WIP/debtor reporting, and credit card reconciliations
• Provide support for weekly property transaction considerations
• Cover colleagues’ absence and contribute to ad hoc finance projects
• Follow and update finance procedures; handle document filing and internal deliveries

What You Need:
• A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar finance role
• Previous work in a professional services firm (legal experience advantageous)
• Strong IT skills, especially in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Experience with Aderant is beneficial but not essential
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
• Strong communication skills, initiative, and a disciplined work approach
