Description
Our client is an established financial services business providing investment and wealth management solutions. They are seeking a Software Developer for a one-year fixed-term contract to help develop and maintain the internal systems that support their operations.
Role
Working within a small, collaborative development team, the Software Developer will build, maintain and improve internal applications and the company’s data warehouse.
The role will involve translating business requirements into practical technical solutions, improving operational efficiency and supporting high-quality experiences for clients and employees.
Key responsibilities
• Design, develop, test and maintain internal applications.
• Write clean, well-structured and maintainable code.
• Investigate software issues, resolve bugs and improve existing functionality.
• Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation.
• Support the development of the company’s data warehouse.
• Build ELT processes to transfer data from internal systems into the warehouse.
• Create data models for reporting and analysis.
• Work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand business requirements.
• Follow appropriate software development, release management and branching practices.
• Continue developing technical knowledge and contribute to the wider team.
Person specification
• Three or more years’ experience developing with C# and .NET is preferred, although candidates at different stages of their software development career may be considered.
• Knowledge of T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server would be beneficial.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Confident communication skills when working with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• A structured approach to software development, testing and release management.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM would be advantageous.
• An interest in, or willingness to learn about, investment management and financial services.
• Comfortable working within a small team and managing priorities in a busy environment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to other offices.
