Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, data-led financial services business as a Data Integration Engineer. Working within a Microsoft-based environment, this role offers the chance to build modern, scalable data pipelines and integrations that underpin critical analytics and reporting infrastructure.
As part of a growing team, the successful candidate will help design and maintain a Medallion-architecture data platform, collaborating closely with analysts, developers and stakeholders to turn business needs into secure and optimised solutions.
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
• Designing and maintaining end-to-end data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and following the Bronze ? Silver ? Gold architecture model.
• Developing robust integrations across enterprise systems and APIs, including SharePoint, SQL, Azure Key Vault, and RESTful services.
• Enhancing internal Python-based ETL libraries with clean code, reusable modules, and clear documentation.
• Driving performance and cost optimisation across Spark pools, data partitioning, and delta table structures.
• Promoting data governance best practices, naming conventions, and architecture standards in a regulated environment.
• Supporting production operations with effective troubleshooting, alerting, and preventative controls.
• Translating business requirements into agile development tasks and delivering iterative improvements across projects.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years’ experience in data engineering or software development, ideally within financial services or another regulated industry. Strong Python (Pandas, PySpark) and SQL skills are essential, alongside hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or the Azure data stack. The role suits a proactive, detail-oriented professional who values automation, scalability, and clean architecture. Familiarity with DevOps practices, REST/Graph API integration, and cloud security protocols will be highly advantageous.
