We are currently seeking an experienced Environmental Health Officer (Food) to join a South West London local authority on an initial 12-week contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy and supportive food safety team, carrying out a range of regulatory duties including food hygiene inspections, complaint investigations, food safety enforcement, and providing advice to local businesses. The role offers a competitive rate of £50-£55 per hour, dependent on experience.

The successful candidate will be fully food competent and able to hit the ground running with minimal supervision. You will hold relevant Environmental Health qualifications and have recent experience delivering food safety interventions in accordance with the Food Law Code of Practice. Candidates should be confident managing their own caseload, undertaking inspections, investigations, and enforcement activities, while maintaining a high standard of professional judgement and communication.
