Job Title: Emotional Literacy Teaching Assistant
Location: Andover, Hampshire
Pay: £100 to £110 per day PAYE

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Emotional Literacy Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team a secondary school in Andover, Hampshire. The successful candidate will work full-time from 8.15 am to 4.20 pm, with a competitive daily pay rate of £100 - £110.

As an integral part of our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities team, you will provide tailored support to students, aiding in their emotional and social development. Your primary role will be to implement strategies and interventions that enhance emotional literacy among our pupils, ensuring they have the skills to understand and manage their emotions effectively.

Responsibilities:

- Work closely with the SEND team to identify students who require emotional literacy support and create individualised plans to address their needs.
- Deliver one-to-one and small group sessions focusing on emotional regulation, empathy, self-awareness, and other aspects of emotional literacy.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers, SEND coordinators, and parents as necessary.
- Establish a trusting rapport with students, encouraging a safe and positive learning environment where they feel supported and understood.
- Assist in the adaptation of learning materials to make them accessible for students with diverse emotional needs.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in emotional literacy support.

Requirements:

- An ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) qualification or relevant experience working with children in an emotional literacy capacity.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with educators, parents, and external agencies.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting student well-being and personal development.
