Grade 1 English and Maths Tutor

A lovely specialist school in Skelmersdale is looking for full-time teaching assistants to work with children or young people from 11-19 years. The school provides an inclusive education for students with a range of complex needs, including PMLD, autism and severe learning disabilities. This role would be well suited to those coming from a care background, due to the SEND requirements and needs of the children. Ideally you will have prior experience working with children or young adults, though this is not essential.

As a school care assistant you must be open to supporting with personal care and swimming. You may be required to work across several age groups so flexibility is essential. The school is looking for new school care assistants to start in September, and will consider permanent contracts for staff who succeed in their role.

Essential Requirements:

Enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce) registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one.

Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to create an inclusive learning environment.

Experience with manual handling and personal care would be beneficial but not essential.

Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude are essential.
