About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Groundworks Supervisor to oversee and coordinate groundworks operations on new housing developments. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site teams, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards while meeting programme deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate groundworks operatives and subcontractors on site.
Read, interpret, and work from construction drawings, site plans, and specifications.
Plan daily activities and allocate resources effectively to meet project targets.
Ensure all groundworks are delivered in line with project requirements, including:
Foundations
Drainage
Roads and footpaths
External works
Plot works
Finishing works
Monitor quality and ensure works comply with relevant standards and specifications.
Conduct site inspections and identify any issues before they impact programme delivery.
Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Liaise with Site Managers, Engineers, Clients, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
Keep accurate records of progress, labour, plant, and materials.
Lead, motivate, and develop site teams to achieve high performance.
Essential Requirements
Proven experience as a Groundworks Supervisor within residential housing developments.
Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Excellent leadership skills with experience managing and controlling teams on site.
Sound understanding of all aspects of groundworks and infrastructure for new-build housing projects.
Ability to plan works, solve problems, and maintain productivity.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Strong commitment to health and safety.
Preferred Qualifications
SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
CSCS Card.
First Aid at Work qualification.
Relevant plant tickets (advantageous but not essential).
