Are you an experienced and resilient HR Manager who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment?
Experience gained within healthcare, care or another highly regulated, people-intensive sector would be particularly valuable.

We are supporting an established organisation with the appointment of an Interim HR Manager. Reporting directly to the CEO and managing a small junior HR team, you will provide hands-on HR leadership while helping to maintain a positive, compliant and well-supported workforce.

This is a busy and varied role within a high-turnover, people-focused environment. You will need to be comfortable balancing competing priorities, managing complex employee relations matters and providing pragmatic advice to managers. The organisation intends to recruit permanently but requires an experienced interim professional who can make an immediate impact.

Key responsibilities
• Lead the day-to-day HR function, ensuring a responsive and effective service across the organisation.
• Manage, coach and develop a small junior HR team.
• Take the lead on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, capability, absence and wellbeing cases.
• Provide clear, practical employment law and HR advice to the CEO and management team.
• Coach managers to handle people matters confidently, fairly and consistently.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, retention and workforce planning within a high-volume environment.
• Monitor employee turnover, absence and other key HR data, identifying trends and recommending practical improvements.
• Ensure HR policies, processes and employee records remain compliant and up to date.
• Oversee HR systems, people data and right-to-work documentation.
• Support payroll processes and work closely with Finance to ensure the accuracy of people information.
• Maintain oversight of mandatory training, development and compliance requirements.
• Produce HR reports and workforce updates for the CEO and senior leadership team.
• Promote employee engagement, effective communication and the organisation’s values.

About you
You will be an experienced operational HR Manager who can quickly establish credibility and provide calm, practical leadership in a demanding environment.

You will ideally bring:
• Strong employee relations expertise, with experience managing a varied and complex caseload.
• Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Previous experience managing or developing junior HR team members.
• The resilience and confidence to work effectively within a fast-paced, high-turnover organisation.
• A hands-on, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to balance strategic priorities with day-to-day operational demands.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to advise and challenge senior leaders.
• Experience gained within healthcare, care or another high-volume, regulated and people-intensive environment would be particularly beneficial.
• The ability to start immediately or at very short notice.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to provide immediate stability, leadership and practical support within a values-led organisation. There may also be an opportunity to be considered for the permanent role.
