Join this leading telecommunications provider delivering innovative digital services across the Channel Islands and Isle of Man. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled IP Network Engineer to support the development, management and maintenance of core infrastructure, including IP & MPLS networks, DDoS protection systems, corporate LANs, and broadband platforms.
Working as part of the IP & Internet Services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the operational reliability and security of the business’s critical systems. The role offers excellent exposure to cutting-edge technologies and cross-jurisdictional projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate, maintain and manage core IP & MPLS networks and product offerings.
• Support and enhance the corporate LAN, broadband BNGs, RADIUS platform, and DDoS protection systems.
• Collaborate with Service Design on the planning, testing and implementation of new technologies.
• Configure and monitor network performance, ensuring adherence to best practice and regulatory standards.
• Contribute to the organisation’s security framework, including patch management and incident response.
• Support regulatory compliance and provide performance and budgeting data as required.
• Participate in standby and call-out duty rota, with occasional off-Island travel.
The Ideal Candidate:
• Experienced in configuring and maintaining routers, switches, and dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
• Familiar with MPLS technologies, including L2VPN, VPLS, and L3VPNs.
• Knowledgeable in broadband BNGs, PPPoE and RADIUS platforms.
• Strong understanding of DDoS protection systems and security practices.
• Proficient in Cisco IOS/IOS-XE/IOS-XR; Juniper JUNOS experience desirable.
• Holds or working towards professional certifications (e.g. CCNP, JNCIP-SP).
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Comfortable participating in a standby rota and providing call-out cover.
• Possesses a valid driving licence.
• Must be able to provide a satisfactory Basic Police Disclosure.
