Description

Our client, a leading international private and institutional banking group, is seeking a Junior Relationship Manager to join their Channel Islands team. This role is responsible for supporting customer growth and delivering exceptional customer service by building, managing, and deepening client relationships.

The role focuses on growing and optimising the customer portfolio through proactive engagement and effective service delivery, while ensuring compliance with governance and operational requirements.

The Role
This is a critical position that balances client-facing growth with disciplined operational oversight:
• Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships and support the team’s delivery of an exceptional customer experience in line with Balanced Scorecard standards.
• Portfolio Growth: Support net growth through proactive and reactive engagement, identifying cross-sell opportunities, and growing the active account base to increase client penetration.
• Operational Coordination: Track, control, and influence operational activities to support the team in achieving sales targets and improving customer efficiency.
• Administrative Support: Deliver efficient support through timely planning, reporting, system updates, and daily transaction checks to ensure new business applications meet timelines.
• Regulatory Anchor: Ensure strict compliance with legislative, regulatory, and audit requirements.

The Ideal Candidate
While an understanding of banking principles is advantageous, the role is open to individuals with a developing knowledge base who are eager to grow.

Key Requirements:
• Industry Knowledge: A developing knowledge of fiduciary services practice, investment products, principles of accountancy, commercial law, or asset management.
• Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to act as a point of contact for follow-ups and issue resolution.
• Communication: Strength in written and spoken communication and the ability to explain concepts and principles to clients and internal partners.
• Software Skills: Basic proficiency in Excel, Word, and internal software systems.
• Education: 5 GCSEs (Grade C or above) including English and Math.

Key Competencies
Success in this role requires a service-oriented mindset, execution discipline, and the ability to influence without authority. You should be highly organised, resilient, and comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with the wider team.
