Axcis Education is now working closely with a SEND school supporting individuals who have been through extremely difficult life experiences and are now facing Social Emotional and Mental Health challenges (SEMH). The school, based in the Northfield area, has a requirement for a qualified teacher with QTS and expertise on the National Curriculum for Key Stage 3.
This is full-time role; the successful applicant will have QTS (qualified teacher status) and be required to work 8am-4pm, Monday to Friday. More desirable, but not essential experience includes previous work with individuals who have faced difficult times through their young lives and can display challenging behaviours as well as the ability to create, implement, and reassess behaviour management strategies.
The school has a fantastic support system in place for their young people and their families as well as the teachers and support staff; including counsellors and therapists knowledgeable in therapeutic approaches.
Requirements:
• Degree in secondary education or PGCE - Essential
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential
• In-depth knowledge of the National Curriculum for key stage 3 – Essential
• Experience in working with individuals that have lived through very challenging life experiences – Desirable
• Experience in supporting individuals who can display challenging behaviour through therapeutic approaches and creating, implementing, and reassessing behaviour management strategies – Desirable
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required or we’re happy to carry out a new one ahead of you starting the position – Essential
• Minimum of 2 good references – Essential
