Experienced Learning Support Assistant – Iver, Buckinghamshire

We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive Infant and Nursery School in Iver, Buckinghamshire. This rewarding role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young children to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential during the crucial early years of their education.

About the School

Located in Iver, Buckinghamshire, this friendly and supportive Infant and Nursery School provides education for children aged 3–7 years. The school is dedicated to creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child feels safe, valued and inspired to learn. Staff work collaboratively to support children with a wide range of learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to develop academically, socially and emotionally while building confidence and independence.

Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional learning needs.
Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities across the Nursery and Infant classes.
Support children's communication, language, social, emotional and behavioural development.
Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour both inside and outside the classroom.
Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.
Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
Help create a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
Support children during classroom activities, playtimes, lunchtimes and educational visits where required.
Skills, Knowledge & Transferable Experience

We welcome applications from experienced Learning Support Assistants and candidates with transferable experience from sectors such as childcare, early years, care work, youth work, residential care, coaching or community support.

Successful candidates will have:

Previous experience supporting children within an educational, nursery or child-focused setting.
A good understanding of SEND and inclusive learning practices.
Knowledge of child development within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 is desirable.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Patience, empathy and a calm, positive approach.
The ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider school team.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to individual pupil needs.
A genuine passion for supporting young children's learning, wellbeing and development.
