Teaching Assistant
Location: Gloucester, GL4
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Temporary with a view to becoming permanent
Axcis are working with a specialist school dedicated to supporting students aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school offers a supportive and nurturing environment designed to help students overcome challenges, build emotional resilience and achieve their academic potential. With a focus on personalised learning, we provide opportunities for outdoor education and other activities aimed at holistic development.
Requirements:
• Experience supporting children with ASD or SEND is highly desirable.
• Patient, reliable and adaptable, with a caring attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with school staff.
• Ability to manage and support students with challenging behaviour in a calm and proactive manner.
Ideal Candidate:
We would love to hear from you if you have experience in:
• Nurseries, youth clubs, care homes, or residential settings
• Personal experience supporting SEND children
• Sociology, psychology, sports, music, art, or drama graduates
Additional Information:
• Hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
• Full-time positions available
• Pay: £89 per day, based on experience and qualifications
• This role is initially temporary with the potential for a permanent contract
