Axcis Education is working in partnership with a large, well-established SEND school in St Helens, supporting pupils aged 4–14 with a diverse range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and complex medical and learning needs.
We are looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join the team from April 2026 (after the Easter break). This is a rewarding opportunity to provide consistent, personalised support and become a key part of a child’s development journey.
Your Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Provide individualised, consistent support to a pupil throughout the school day
• Support learning both in the classroom and across the wider school environment
• Assist in delivering tailored learning plans set by teachers and therapists
• Help develop communication, emotional regulation, and positive behaviours
• Use creative, engaging approaches to support progress and independence
• Work closely with a supportive, multidisciplinary team
What We’re Looking For

• Have a calm, patient, and nurturing approach
• Have experience with SEND (preferred but not essential)
• Are adaptable and proactive in a dynamic school setting
• Can build strong, trusting relationships with children
