Early Years Teaching Assistant
Chorley | Axcis Education | £93+ per day
Axcis Education is recruiting for an enthusiastic and experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a nursery setting in Chorley.
The primary responsibility of this role is to work within the main nursery provision, supporting children across the EYFS with their learning, development, play and day-to-day activities.
The setting also has a separate complex needs room. While the successful candidate may occasionally be asked to support in this room, this is not the main focus of the role. Some flexibility to work within the complex needs provision is desirable but not essential.
This is a hands-on role where you will need to be confident engaging young children, getting involved in activities and adapting your approach to meet individual needs.
You will:
• Support children across the EYFS with their learning and development.
• Encourage communication, social development, independence and play.
• Support structured activities and child-led learning.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with children.
• Work closely with nursery staff to provide consistent support.
• Help create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment.
• Be proactive, engaging and willing to get involved.
• Occasionally provide support within the complex needs room if required.
The successful candidate will have:
• Extensive experience working within an EYFS/nursery setting – essential.
• A proactive, enthusiastic and engaging attitude – essential.
• Confidence getting involved with children and supporting activities.
• A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach.
• Some flexibility to support within the complex needs room is desirable, but not essential.
• Experience supporting children with additional needs is advantageous.
• A TA, Early Years or relevant childcare qualification is desirable.
• An Enhanced Child/Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
• Reliable ability to commute to Chorley.
