Do you enjoy working with young people in an engaging, hands-on environment? We are looking for enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join a unique outdoor educational setting, supporting children and young people with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
This is a fantastic opportunity to help pupils develop socially, emotionally, and academically through nature-based and experiential activities. The role will involve working with primary and/or secondary-aged students, supporting their individual needs in a calm, nurturing, and inspiring environment.
What you’ll be doing:
Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of outdoor and experiential learning sessions tailored to students with ALN.
Helping pupils engage in a variety of practical activities, including forest school, outdoor crafts, and team-building challenges.
Providing one-to-one and small group support to help learners develop confidence, communication skills, and independence.
Assisting with the setup, safety, and organisation of outdoor learning spaces.
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation through a patient, understanding approach
What we’re looking for:
Adaptable and able to respond calmly to different situations.
Creative with ideas to inspire and engage learners with a variety of needs.
Reliable, patient, and committed to making a positive difference.
Experience in education, youth work, or care is beneficial, especially supporting children with ALN – but full training can be provided.
A driving licence is beneficial but not essential
