Outreach Teaching Assistant – Stockport SK12
Axcis Education are seeking an Outreach Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 11–16 across a range of educational programmes within an alternative SEND provision in the Stockport area.
Position: Sports Outreach Teaching Assistant
Contract Type: Full time/Day to Day/ Long term
Hours: 8:30am-4:00pm
Pay: £105+ per day dependant on experience
Start Date: ASAP
This role involves working with young people who face a variety of diagnosed or undiagnosed SEND needs, including ASD, ADHD and SEMH. You will provide outreach support, helping students engage with learning both on and off site, while promoting their emotional wellbeing and personal development.
You will need a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, as travel is required. Additionally you will also need a DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
The school follows a nurture-based approach, focusing on the social and emotional development of each pupil. Learners are carefully assessed to determine their individual needs, allowing staff to create personalised learning programmes. Progress is closely monitored, and students may work towards GCSEs, Functional Skills (Levels 1 and 2), or BTEC qualifications, depending on their abilities and stage of development.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Excellent relationship-building skills
• Strong literacy and numeracy understanding
• Previous experience supporting individuals with SEND
• Effective strategies for supporting dysregulated pupils
• A solid understanding of safeguarding (Level 2 or equivalent)
