Description

Looking for flexible work where you can make a genuine difference?

We are working in partnership with a group of specialist schools within a well-established multi-academy trust, supporting children and young people with a wide range of additional needs. These settings cater for pupils with SEMH, Autism, complex needs and PMLD, and are known for their inclusive, nurturing and relationship-led approach.

With an increase in demand across the trust, we are looking to build a pool of reliable, flexible staff who are available for ad-hoc, day-to-day and short-term cover.

About the Schools

Although each setting supports slightly different needs, they share a strong, consistent ethos:

A commitment to inclusive, child-centred education
A focus on building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Use of trauma-informed, therapeutic and structured approaches
Strong collaboration between teaching staff, support staff and external professionals

You may find yourself working in:

SEMH provisions, supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
Autism and communication-focused settings
Complex needs / PMLD environments, supporting pupils with physical and learning needs
The Role

As a flexible Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide 1:1 and small group support depending on the setting
Adapt quickly to different classrooms and pupil needs
Support with behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement
Assist with learning activities and classroom routines
In some settings, support with personal care and physical needs

This is a varied role where no two days are the same — ideal for those who enjoy diversity, flexibility and hands-on experience.

Who This Would Suit

We are particularly keen to hear from:

SEN Teaching Assistants and support staff
Youth workers, mentors or behaviour specialists
Psychology or education graduates
Care/support workers looking to move into education
Nursery practitioners interested in SEND

You will be:

Adaptable, proactive and reliable
Comfortable working across a range of needs and age groups
Confident building rapport quickly with pupils and staff
Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
Why Flexible Work?
Choose the days you work — ideal around studies or other commitments
Gain experience across a range of specialist settings and needs
Develop your skills in behaviour support, SEND and classroom practice
Opportunity to move into long-term or permanent roles within the trust
