Job Title: HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) – SEND Support
Start Date: September 2025
Location: Seven Kings, Mainstream Primary School
Contract Type: Full-time / Term-time only
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HLTA to join our supportive team from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with SEND.
The successful candidate will work primarily with a small group of around 6 students with diverse SEND needs, providing tailored support and interventions in a mainstream primary school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver structured interventions and support learning activities for pupils with SEND
- Work closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to plan, deliver, and assess individualised learning programmes
- Monitor progress and contribute to reports, reviews, and planning meetings
- Provide in-class support and occasionally lead whole class sessions as required
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child can thrive
- Liaise with parents/carers and external professionals as needed
Essential Requirements:
- HLTA qualification (must be completed and certified)
- Proven experience working with children with SEND, ideally within a primary school setting
- A strong understanding of inclusive education practices and SEND strategies
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting children’s development
- Familiarity with EHCPs and intervention tracking
