The Role – Maths Teacher in Dorking
As a Maths Teacher in Dorking, you will:
Deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Teach Mathematics up to GCSE level, supporting pupils of varying abilities and learning needs
Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
Adapt teaching strategies to support students with SEMH, attachment difficulties and additional learning needs
Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing clear feedback and tailored interventions
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams and external professionals
Promote positive behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation
Contribute to EHCP reviews, target setting and student support plans
Build strong relationships with pupils to support engagement and achievement
Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
The ideal Maths Teacher in Dorking will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification
Experience teaching Maths to GCSE level
Strong subject knowledge across the Mathematics curriculum
Experience working with students with SEND, SEMH or behavioural needs
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
The ability to build positive and professional relationships with students and colleagues
A patient, resilient and empathetic approach
Strong communication and organisational skills
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and inclusive teaching practices
