SEN Teacher – Slough
SENDhelp is recruiting multiple qualified SEN Teachers for an all-age specialist school in Slough.
The school is looking for teachers across different year groups, so applications are welcome from candidates with either primary or secondary teaching experience. The key requirement is that you hold UK QTS and have experience teaching children or young people with special educational needs.
Experience in a specialist SEN school would be ideal, although teachers from mainstream schools who have taught pupils with significant additional needs are also encouraged to apply.

About the role
As an SEN Teacher, you will lead a class of pupils with a range of additional needs and adapt your teaching to suit different levels of learning, communication and independence.
The school supports pupils across primary, secondary and post-16 education, so you do not need experience with one specific age group. Teachers will be matched to classes based on their experience and strengths.
Pupils may have needs including autism, MLD, SLD, PMLD, communication difficulties and associated behavioural or sensory needs.
What you will be doing
Your responsibilities may include:
Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
Adapting the curriculum for pupils working at different levels
Leading and supporting Teaching Assistants in the classroom
Supporting pupils towards EHCP and individual learning goals
Assessing progress and adapting teaching accordingly
Creating a structured, safe and inclusive learning environment
Working closely with therapists, SENCOs and other professionals
Supporting pupils with communication, behaviour and independence
What we are looking for
To be considered for this SEN Teacher position, you must:
Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status
Have experience teaching children or young people with special educational needs
Be confident adapting lessons for different abilities and learning needs
Be able to lead a classroom and work effectively with support staff
Be patient, consistent and resilient
Be committed to safeguarding and supporting pupil progress
Experience in a specialist SEND school is highly desirable, but relevant SEN teaching experience within a mainstream school or specialist provision will also be considered.
