SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism & Emotional Regulation – Coventry

Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: £89 – £105 per day / £445 – £525 per week
Axcis Education is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and emotional regulation difficulties in a Coventry primary school.
The Role:
You will:
• Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with autism.
• Use visual timetables, sensory tools, and structured learning approaches.
• Support with transitions and managing overstimulation.
• Encourage social interaction and independence in learning.
• Liaise with SENCO, teacher, and family to deliver progress plans.
About You:
• Experience supporting autism and sensory needs in education.
• Calm, consistent, and able to use de-escalation techniques.
• Familiar with PECS, Makaton, or other early communication strategies.
• Enthusiastic and passionate about inclusive education.
