Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible supply
Pay Rate: Competitive and dependent on experience
Axcis Education is looking to recruit experienced Teaching Assistants (TAs) with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) for schools across Stockport.
We are seeking individuals who have recently worked in schools and are now looking for new opportunities starting in September. Whether you're looking for day-to-day supply, long-term placements, or a permanent role, we want to hear from you!
The Role:
- As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support students with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and SEMH
- Provide 1:1 and group-based support inside and outside the classroom
- Help to create an inclusive, nurturing learning environment
- Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to adapt resources and strategies
Requirements:
- Recent experience working as a TA in a school setting (mainstream or special schools)
- Experience supporting children with SEND
- A positive, flexible attitude and strong behaviour management skills
- A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new one
