The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students throughout the school day, helping them access learning, develop communication skills and build independence.
Your responsibilities may include:
• Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex SEND needs
• Assisting students with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
• Supporting sensory activities and personalised learning programmes
• Encouraging independence and participation in classroom activities
• Working closely with teaching staff and therapists to implement individual support strategies
• Supporting pupils with personal care where required
• Creating a positive, safe and nurturing learning environment
• Celebrating and promoting every student's achievements and progress

• Have experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults
• Are patient, empathetic and adaptable
• Have an interest in SEND, Autism, PMLD or complex learning needs
• Enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Can build strong relationships with pupils and staff
• Are committed to providing outstanding support to children and young people
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Care Worker, Support Worker, Nursery Practitioner, Residential Support Worker or Healthcare Assistant would be beneficial but is not essential.
