Position: Teaching Assistant
Location: Salisbury
Setting: Primary School
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:15pm
Pay: £14.25-£15.00 per hour

Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Salisbury. About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs. You will play a key role in helping children access learning, build confidence and develop positive relationships with both peers and staff.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
• Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions
• Helping pupils engage positively in lessons and classroom activities
• Promoting emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour strategies
• Encouraging communication, independence and social development
• Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils
• Working collaboratively with teachers, parents and wider school staff
• Assisting in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment

• Personal or professional experience working with children or young people
• A patient, caring and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
• A genuine interest in SEND, education and child development
• A proactive attitude and willingness to make a positive impact
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, Youth Worker, Nursery Practitioner or Care Assistant is beneficial but not essential.
