Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary School
Location: M24
Contract Type: Full-Time / Term Time Only
Salary: From 12.80 per hour, depending on experience
Axcis Education are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive SEND teaching assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Rochdale. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), supporting them to achieve their full potential both academically and socially.
You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team to provide tailored support to pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
• Assist in implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
• Support pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH
• Promote inclusion, independence, and positive behaviour strategies
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals
• Monitor and record pupil progress
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Experience working with children with SEND in a primary school setting
• A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A good understanding of safeguarding procedures
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification – desirable but not essential)
