Join a Consultancy Driving Sustainable Building Design
We’re recruiting on behalf of a multi-disciplined practice of Energy Consultants and Architectural Designers with offices in Blackburn and London. As they continue to grow their sustainability and renewables division, they’re looking for an experienced Senior Building Physics Engineer to help deliver cutting-edge low-carbon projects across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a broad range of sustainable design projects in sectors including commercial, education, residential, and industrial.

Key Responsibilities:
• Carrying out dynamic thermal simulation modelling using DesignBuilder and/or IES
• Completing Building Regulations compliance modelling (Part L / EPC assessments)
• Conducting thermal comfort analysis (CIBSE Guide A, TM52, TM59)
• Performing operational energy assessments (CIBSE TM54)
• Supporting passive design and low/zero carbon feasibility studies
• Producing planning support documents, such as energy strategies
• Assisting in BREEAM assessments and net-zero retrofit studies (Ideally BREEAM qualified)
• Engaging in collaborative project delivery with clients and consultants

Requirements:
• A degree in Engineering, Sustainability, Building Services, or Architecture
• Strong knowledge of building physics, heat transfer, and energy modelling
• Experience with UK Building Regulations and the National Calculation Methodology (NCM)
• Proficiency in DesignBuilder and/or IES
• Ideally accredited as a commercial/non-domestic Energy Assessor
• Understanding of CIBSE guidance and comfort/energy performance standards
• Effective communicator with strong initiative and problem-solving abilities
• Some knowledge of mechanical design and renewable systems is advantageous
