We are recruiting for a Senior Environmental Crime Officer to support a proactive environmental enforcement service in Derbyshire. This role focuses on tackling environmental crime such as fly-tipping, waste offences, and anti-social behaviour. You will lead complex investigations, gather evidence, prepare case files and take enforcement action including prosecutions. The role is operational and varied, involving site visits, surveillance, partnership working and case management, alongside contributing to wider environmental protection initiatives.

We are looking for an experienced officer with a strong background in environmental crime or regulatory enforcement. You will have proven experience handling complex investigations, applying legislation and preparing cases for court. The ability to work independently, manage a varied caseload and make sound enforcement decisions is essential. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are required, as you will work with the public, internal teams and external agencies. Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to waste, environmental protection or anti-social behaviour is expected.

In return, we are offering a competitive rate of £40 per hour via umbrella. This role is based in Derbyshire and offers a mix of field-based and flexible working.
